Construction Supervisor:

Responsibilities & Roles:

Reporting directly to the Project Manager, as the Construction Supervisor you will oversee the entire construction process on site. You are responsible for creating and monitoring project momentum, scheduling, quality control, safety, and delegating work to the project team and sub-contractors. This position requires an individual with a high level of professionalism, a demonstrated commitment to safety and an ability to contribute to a positive culture based on mutual trust and respect while delivering results.

As an integral part of the crew, you will provide leadership, training, and support to lead hands, trades, employees, and contractors. Through a strong combination of technical knowledge, skills, business acumen and leadership capabilities, you will implement and control all programs and construction procedures. Exercising considerable judgement, integrity, and discretion at all times. You will provide support, sound advice and guidance in an effort to ensure a high level of safety, operational, financial and quality performance.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safety compliance of all labor forces including subcontractors;
  • Ensure all daily reports including: daily foreman reports, Health and Safety documentation and maintenance records are always completed;
  • Ensure all project safety and quality-control policies are met;
  • Day-to-day coordination of construction crews, owned equipment, rented equipment, material supply and subcontractors.
  • Analyze specifications and construction drawings and
  • Monitor project site, to ensure compliance with design procedures, contract specifications and industry’s best practices;
  • Research solutions with Project Managers and Project Coordinators to recommend solutions to design problems, including conflicts, unidentified and existing errors/omissions;
  • Plan and implement schedules with Project Managers and Project Coordinators to determine crew/manpower levels and ensure the proper equipment and subcontractors are available as required.
  • Review up-to-date cost reports with Project Manager to analyze, determine solutions and correct any tasks that are not within budget;
  • Complete additional assignments and responsibilities as requested by Construction Manager and/or Senior Management;

Qualifications & Certifications:

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in a similar position.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Microsoft Project.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Must have Construction Safety Training System - 09
  • Must have Ground Disturbance Level 2
  • Pre-employment Drug and Alcohol test required
  • A strong commitment to safety and safe work practice.
  • OFA Level 1 & WHIMIS is an asset.
